How do we choose to source fabrics? When looking at fabrics, they are readily available in the middle east and in a wide variety. This means we can get raw materials which is great. We get them through retail and wholesale markets as well as fabric mills. However as easy as it is to get a selected fabric, it is often not attainable once stock has run out. This is due to a mix of reasons: 

  1. Retail outlets often blindly order leftover stocks. It is done from mills and wholesalers across the globe and tracking those down after running out is often not possible because the retail outlets do not keep track of exact thread count and what material percentages. 
  2. Often the fabric markets and retail outlets purchase remaining stock. They buy remaining stock at lower prices. This causes the fabrics to not be available for months after without having higher cost.
  3. Some mills produce cost effective fabrics in set quality. This could be a specific fabric type, weave and pattern on a set quantity. However on reorder the minimum amount to reorder becomes too big. This means you end up ordering 10000 meters when you only need 2000.

This poses some serious quality issues in the market. We rely on continued quality and availability. So how do we choose to source fabrics, while overcoming this obstacle?

  1. we work with international mills on contract basis which produces exact products according to specs and will continue to produce said material for continued availability. 
  2. Fabric order are exclusively ordered from certified mills that work specifically in standards that holds them accountable to the quality.
  3. Our team travels abroad to acquire the newest trends in fabrics and trimmings to insure a continued growth of our network to source new like minded mills who have constant production flow.

What is your line of work and what tasks do you perform during the day in your workwear/uniform? Based on those tasks we get an idea of how utilitarian the work wear should be. As an example a stewardess has to be able to reach the upper compartments in a plane. But she still has to wear a nice and trendy. The uniform must not wrinkle and should be easy to maintain. The stewardess typically works 18 hour shifts so it should not be too thick to increase any body odour. 

When looking at the needs of our clients a clear choice of colors, weave, pattern or prints are individually chosen. Those choices are based on the needs of the design and needed quality. If a design is super intricate then it is often better with high thread counts to make a pattern stand out much sharper. If the design requires high utility and durability it is often better to go with thicker thread types and lower thread counts. This results in less wear and tear in the fabric. The fabric could also be paired with elastane, to increase the comfort and flexibility of movement.  

How do we differ from others?  

We custom design every piece to the needs of the clients. This could mean custom weave, print or embroidered patterns. It could even mean chemical treatment processes to the fabrics. Treatments could be anti microbial, to prevent bacteria spreading. This is often used in health care sector amongst many others. The custom fabrics we create also have to go through rigorous testing and standards. This aspect is super important to maintain durability and client requirements. These factors all work together and results in the branding being more on point when it comes to the final result. Initially investing in higher quality is more expensive.
